What You Need To Know!

May 7, 2025
  • Please remember that the final day for seniors to submit assignments is May 15, 2025, and for non-seniors, May 22, 2025.

  • This course has no end-of-course exam

  • Business Plan Project Point System

  • The point system for the Business Plan Project includes an 18-point curve, meaning all students are awarded 18 points out of the 50 available for the assignment.

    • If you have completed your business plan, the 18 points are already included in your project score.

    • If you have not yet completed the project, I have added 18 curve points to your grade book for this assignment.

    • Once you complete the project, any additional points earned will be added to your total.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification.

April 28th - May 1, 2025
I will be out of the office for state testing April 28th through May 1st. We will not have a live lesson session on April 30th.

April 23, 2025
The Entrepreneurship Business Plan Project is now past due. Students who have not completed this assignment have received a temporary zero in their grade books. However, students may still complete it for full credit. The remaining semester's live lesson sessions will be dedicated to helping students complete any or all incomplete assignments. These sessions will be required for students who need to attend. I will send email reminders of the days I will hold required live lesson sessions and add these times to students' planners.

Temporary zeros have also been entered into the grade book of students who have not completed the Unit 11 Lesson 12 Flashcard Quiz.

There is no end-of-course exam for this class.

🎯 Academic Success
  1. Review and Organize Notes
Go through the notes and materials from each subject. Summarize key points—this will help with final exam prep and future reference.
  2. Meet with Teachers
Ask about any missing assignments, upcoming deadlines, or tips for finals. This shows initiative and may help improve your grade.
  3. Set a Study Schedule
Create a realistic plan leading up to finals. Break study time into manageable chunks and prioritize subjects based on difficulty and importance.
  4. Form Study Groups
Studying with classmates can make learning more effective and engaging—just ensure the group stays focused.

🧠 Mental and Emotional Wellness

  1. Practice Stress Management
Get enough sleep, take breaks, and use techniques like deep breathing or journaling to stay balanced.
  2. Reflect on Your Year
Think about what you’ve learned academically and personally. What worked well? What would you change next year?

📚 Planning Ahead

  1. Write Your Resume or Portfolio
Record achievements, volunteer work, and extracurriculars. This is helpful for college applications, jobs, or scholarships.
  2. Explore Summer Opportunities
Look for internships, summer courses, volunteer roles, or part-time jobs. These experiences boost your resume and help you grow.
  3. Set Goals for Next Year
Whether it’s improving a grade, joining a new club, or preparing for college tests, having goals gives you direction.

Hello caretakers, learning coaches, and students!

We will continue to use the Renaissance STAR Benchmark Assessment as our universal screener for students in grades 9, 10, and 11. This assessment will be administered in spring. Students will complete the STAR Benchmark Assessment in their homeroom teacher's live lesson room. The assessment dates and homeroom teachers' live lesson link have been added to your students' Planner. The screening results will be examined alongside other student data to identify students needing more intensive targeted instruction in math and reading.

To prepare to take the Renaissance STAR Benchmark Assessments, your student will need:

  • a computer
  • your student's username and password
  • headphones or speakers
  • scratch paper
  • pencil

You are welcome to watch this video (scroll down to see the video) which will provide you with an overview of Renaissance STAR Assessments before testing. Students mustn't be provided with assistance when answering questions, their webcam is on throughout test administration, and your student is in a distraction-free environment. The data will be used to ensure your student receives personalized instructional support.

If you have any questions, please reach out.

Thank you!
